It's A Wonderful Life

As I type this, it has just passed midnight into Christmas Eve. I just finished watching It's A Wonderful Life, which is one of my favorite holiday movies. In fact, my favorite line from a movie is in this film:
"Remember: No man is a failure who has friends!"
I take something different from the movie every year, but this year that line rings a little differently than it has in the past.

For those of you who don't know about the struggles I have had the last couple of months, I'm sorry to keep you in the dark- I will write about it all on this blog soon, when I am ready. But suffice it to say, two months ago, I unexpectedly had to deal with something I never thought would happen to me.  As it was happening I feared how lonely the journey I was facing could be. Instead, I quickly discovered what truly amazing friends I have. They listened to me when I cried, distracted me when I needed to think about something/anything else, showed up when I asked or just cause. I never expected less from them, but I've never been more grateful than I have been the last 2 months.

My family is always there for me. I have never doubted their love and support for anything I have done and they were also there for me the last two months. But I believe they have also seen that they don't have to worry about me as much (not that they will ever stop). I have another family here and they are beautiful people.

I'm on the other side of what happened 2 months ago. Recover is a process, but thanks to my friends I've made it through. I never felt alone, unloved, unsafe or uncared for. I have learned one very importnat thing from my friends and J - I am not a failure, thanks to them.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Special thanks this season to a few special friends: Jacqueline, Amy, Michi, Brittany, Sydney, Ben, Kristen, Kate, Taylor, Amanda and always, Jeremy.
